Hypnosis Client Disclosure & Practice Policies

PURPOSE: To ensure clarity, this document is provided to every client. While it is not a contract or guarantee, it outlines the professional and business policies that guide my practice.
DISCLOSURE OF SERVICES: In accordance with California Business and Professions Code §2053.6, the following disclosure is provided: Hypnosis services are offered for vocational and avocational self-improvement as described in Business and Professions Code §2908. A hypnotist is not a licensed physician or psychologist, and hypnosis services are not licensed by the State of California. Services are non-diagnostic and are not a substitute for medical or psychological care provided by licensed health professionals.
MY CREDENTIALS: I, Circe Link, am a hypnotist trained in Bill O’Hanlon’s Ericksonian Solution-Based Hypnosis at PsychMaven. I am registered with the National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists and hold membership with the National Guild of Hypnotists as a Certified Consulting Hypnotist. I am also a Certified Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, trained by Adept International and The iNLP Center, and an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE: I provide sessions in focused relaxation and mindset development to help people navigate everyday challenges and strengthen well-being. My work may complement medical or psychological care obtained elsewhere but does not replace professional treatment. I do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. Instead, I teach practical tools—including self-hypnosis—that help clients access their natural capacity for positive change.
PRACTICE LIMITS: Clients may seek diagnosis or treatment from other licensed practitioners at any time. If my services are terminated, clients have the right to request coordination or referral to another practitioner.
Clients also have the right:
- to refuse hypnosis services at any time
- to be free from physical, verbal, or sexual abuse
- to know the expected duration of our work together
- to assert these rights without retaliation
CONFIDENTIALITY: I will not release any information about you without your written authorization, except as required by law.
GUARANTEE AND REFUND POLICY: Because individual responses to hypnosis vary, no guarantees of effectiveness can be made. For this reason, services are non-refundable.
FEES & PAYMENT: Payment is accepted by cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, and major credit cards (credit cards preferred). Private hypnosis sessions are $125 per one-hour session, unless purchased as part of a prepaid package or series. Prepaid sessions are non-refundable and expire after 12 months.Appointments cancelled with less than one business day’s notice, or missed without notice, will be charged.
INSURANCE: In general, insurance companies do not cover hypnosis services. Clients should not expect insurance reimbursement, and I am unable to correspond with insurance providers.

VIRTUAL SERVICES: All services are provided virtually via Zoom, Facebook Messenger, or FaceTime.
• You have read and understood this Client Bill of Rights.
• At your first session I may recommend a protocol of sessions based on my understanding of your situation. This recommendation is not a contract, and you may end services at any time.
• After completing a recommended protocol, you may continue sessions at any frequency you choose while you feel you are receiving benefit.
